Nail trimming could be a difficult task for some pet owners. It all depends on your dog’s temperament and your comfort level with the task at hand. The biggest fear for many dog owners is being scared of cutting the quick, causing their pet to bleed; for good reason too, because It can hurt! Proper care of your canine companion involves more than just walking and feeding. Regular grooming will help keep your furry friend happy and healthy.
How often to trim your dog’s nails can vary from one animal to another. Some may need a trim every couple of weeks, where others may be good with once a month.
How often should I get my dog’s ears?
As a general rule: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” Often by attempting to clean the ears, you may be introducing moisture, and causing irritation, you may end up doing more harm than good. It is certainly a good idea to check your dog’s ears regularly for redness, debris, or a bad odour. If you are noticing any of these, give us a call.
What are some of the ear cleaning services that you provide?
We offer general ear cleaning, ear flushing and removal of extra hair within the ear.
With recent changes to restrictions on businesses, we are pleased to advise that some restrictions on veterinary practices have been lifted. Based on these changes, below are some important updates to our operating policies.
1. WE CAN NOW SEE ALL CASES BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
This includes vaccines, wellness exams, blood work, heartworm testing, spays and neuters, dental services, and more!
2. SAFETY MEASURES TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE
We are allowing 1 client per pet into the hospital (up to a maximum of 3 clients in our hospital at one time). When you arrive, please remain outside the hospital and use your cell phone to call us so a staff member can meet you at the door and bring you and your pet into the hospital for an examination.
We ask that you wear a mask when in our building and encourage you to bring your own. While in the exam room please minimize contact and be mindful of physical distancing in the confined space.
You may choose to continue with the "closed-door" approach and we can obtain a history over the phone and then collect the pet at the door for the exam. The Veterinarian will then call you to discuss the recommended treatment plan. After your appointment, a staff member will return your pet to you outside and take care of any needed medications and payment.
Credit cards as the preferred payment method.
Curbside pickup of food and medication (unless you have used our online store and are having your order delivered directly to your home). To place an order through our online store, visit our website and click on "Online Store".
